Ladyfest MCR is back for 2016 with an expanded lineup; more music, more workshops, more bands, more art, more dates, more venues, same basic premise: An inclusive festival of music, art and ideas furthering Manchester’s proud history of talented, creative and radical women.

Friday 7th October
“Clueless” film screening. **SOLD OUT**

Ladyfest MCR brings you a themed screening of CLUELESS, the 90s classic about female friendship, unapologetic femininity and beind a total Betty.

“Rise in the East” – FREE ENTRY
8pm-1am. Eastern Bloc, Stephenson Square.
In conjunction with the legendary Eastern Bloc Records we bring you an all-female DJ lineup featuring a floorshaking mashup of house, techno, disco and italo tunes. A perfect start to the weekend with plenty of surprises…

A showcase of Manchester’s most active and passionate community groups, charities and other groups which support and serve women. Chat to workers, learn about their services and find out how to volunteer.

Ladyfest Manchester will host a number of empowering and wide ranging topical debates,discussions and workshops that affect women on a daily basis within their immediate and wider communities. All delivered by expert and knowledgeable self-defining women and non-binary people in their field. Topics include:
Queers against the prison industrial complex
Trans and non-binary experiences as a feminist
Reproductive justice and freedom
Women, race and resistance
Exploring Consent, Social Media and Sexism through Collective Creation
Ending violence to Sex Workers
The Darker side of Pornography

Women in Tech – 12-6pm – FREE ENTRY

To raise the visibility of women in technology whilst Manchester shines brightly under the limelight as the European City of Science, LadyfestMCR will present a day celebrating women in technology.

Ladyfest MCR Presents: Ladyfest Live 2016
Gullivers and The Castle, from 5pm – Midnight.

The Saturday main event will feature 10 acts over two Northern Quarter venues which will showcase some of 2016’s best female fronted post-punk, indie pop, rock n roll and electronic acts from Manchester and beyond.

Saturday 15th October

Northern Vegan Festival

Proud to be partnered with Viva! The second 2016 Northern Vegan Festival will take place in Sachas Hotel and the Methodist Church across the road as well as several other nearby venues right in the heart of Manchester City Centre on Saturday 15th October 2016 from 10am – 6pm.

There will be 180 fantastic indoor and outdoor stalls offering a wide variety of vegan produce, including cakes and chocolate, hot takeaway food, make up, clothing, pet treats and cheese.

There will be lots of free samples and discounts, cinema room, all day children’s activities, talks, live cookery demonstrations and much more!

There will also be the chance to find out more about any of the animal charities listed on our website and about both local and national animal welfare/vegan groups that you could be a part of.

Admission is just £3 (under 16’s free) payable at the door and this includes entry into all presentations/demo’s. 100% of any proceeds will go directly to animal welfare charities as the festival is fully volunteer ran.

Stalls will be in several rooms and outdoors as well. Every visitor will receive a stall map to ensure that no stall can be missed.
