Exhibition to 20th March 2019

A guest exhibition exploring the ongoing power of Pablo Picasso’s iconic 1937 painting Guernica through a display of 21st century reworkings from across the globe.

All are welcome to attend the exhibition launch evening – Thursday 31 January 6pm.

The curator of the exhibition, Nicola Ashmore, will also give an illustrated talk on Wednesday 13 March at 2pm that explores Guernica and its remakings as a call to action, pushing back at those in power who choose to act to the detriment of civilians.

Exhibitions are open Wednesdays to Fridays 1-5pm, and the first Saturday of most months 10am-4pm.

Michael Herbert will be teaching part one of a course on the history of Radical Women starting on 5th February and finishing on 16th April. It lasts 10 weeks (There is no class on 12th March). It costs £60.

The venue will be the Working Class Movement Library, 51 Crescent, Salford, M5 4WX.

Northern Publishers Fair

Keen to highlight the publishing innovation taking place in the North, award-winning editor Isabelle Kenyon (Fly on the Wall Press), has decided to bring Northern publishers to the forefront in an exciting book fair, held at Manchester Central Library on May 25, 12 – 4 PM.
