Monday 21st October

Public Meeting: Save our Veggie Cafe!

With over 6000 signatures on our petitions to save the cafe, we thought that the Director of Student Experience might have supported our campaign to save the space, but it seems we may have to begin campaigning in earnest.

We have invited members of the SU and University Management along to this public meeting, in order to discuss the consequences of losing the Veggie Cafe, and we want YOU to come and have your say too.

With a great variety of healthy, cheap and nutritious food (including the tastiest soups in Manchester!) and a unique community vibe, the closure of the cafe is not in the interests of staff or students, and we need to shout a little louder as no-one is listening yet.

Come along, have a brew and save our cafe!

Saturday 16th November

Remember fallen anti-fascist comrades, Ivan Khutorskoy and Carlos Palomino

Over the past few months, both Clement Meric and Pavlos Fyssas (Killah P) have been murdered by the far right and huge solidarity demos have been held in their honour. This is a great sign that solidarity can extend throughout the world.

On the 11th November it will be six years since Carlos Palomino was stabbed to death by a Neo-nazi, and on the 16th November it will be four years since Ivan Khutorskoy was shot dead in his home by Russian fascists.

We will be holding a solidarity demo on Saturday the 16th November to remember both Carlos, Ivan and all fallen antifascist comrades and friends.

We hope that everyone can make it, it is important that we never forget what has happened and that the fight continues!

We encourage all groups to come and attend, please bring banners and flags.
